THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The battle of 0-1 has begun, and the winner gets the keys to the ignition. Aric Sardinea and his Rams haven’t had a .500 year in his tenure, and with a national rank of 5532 and a state rank of 466, the Rams are looking to climb the mountain this season. Oak Ridge High School has seen the down years in its school history, so shooting for playoffs wasn’t something too farfetched for the War Eagles.

The Oak Ridge War Eagles lousy luck turned around in 2013-2014. Having back to back 7-4 seasons meant playoffs for the War Eagles, and since Dereck Rush took over the program in 2013, War Eagles have had 3 or 5 years above .500 years. The winning totals have increased by a significant amount since coach Barrett release in 2011 and coach Ruck. Returning quarterback Blane Romero will have all the pressure in the world as he approaches game two, coming off a player of the game performance in 2017 against The Woodlands High School, Romero showed that he could win in any big game.

Senior Camden Barajas is the War Eagle's most versatile athlete of the team. He’s almost a plug me into any system type of guy, who can a red-zone weapon or even line up behind the defensive linemen at linebacker. Losing to Pearland Dawson was a lesson learned for the Oak Ridge War Eagles, the team started slow but seemed to figure it out as the game progressed. In the fourth quarter, the score was 27-21, and the War Eagles looked to make a comeback, until the Dawson Eagles drove it down the field, sneaking in a 1-yard touchdown making it 34-21 Pearland Dawson Eagles.

The Dawson Eagles now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Summer Creek for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 8. The War Eagles face the Alief Elsik Rams (Houston, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 7. Oak Ridge War Eagles will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record, in a do or die defensive showdown with the Alief Elsik Rams.
