OAK RIDGE, Texas -- District 15-6A’s top spot just became crowded after Tuesday’s slate of games. Oak Ridge, the group leader, suffered their first district defeat of the season at the hands of the Conroe Tigers. The Woodlands, after a win at Klein Forest, now sit only 1 game back of the War Eagles. The Highlanders are tied for second place with Klein Collins, who had Tuesday off.

Depending on Friday night’s results, there could be a three-way tie atop the District 15 standings going into next week. The War Eagles will go on the road Tuesday to play Klein Collins, so the next two games will provide an opportunity to re-create space at the top of the standings. However, a couple of losses could put them in a hole going into the final stretch of the season.

Friday’s meeting between Oak Ridge and The Woodlands will be the second and final meeting of the season. In the Feb. 26 matchup at Scotland Yard, The Highlanders were held scoreless by War Eagles pitcher Logan Letney, who pitched a six and a third inning shutout, before closer Blane Romero recorded the save in The Ridge’s 2-0 win.

Offensively, Carson Ogilvie (2-4, RBI) and Lance Hicks (2-3) shined at the plate for Oak Ridge. For The Woodlands, Josh Ekness (1-1, 2B) and Cameron Caley (2-3) stood out in the batter’s box.

The Woodlands Online live broadcast will be brought to you by Texas Tiny Homes Solutions. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
