THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The War Eagles were not in a giving mood Friday night. Oak Ridge came to visit crosstown rival College Park and left with a 4-0 shutout win.

Logan Letney got the start for Oak Ridge and proceeded to put on a Player of the Game worthy performance. The TCU signee threw a complete game, picking up 12 strikeouts and allowed just one hit all night. At the plate, he added a walk and an RBI to help his team out in the win.

Offensively, it was very much a team win for the War Eagles. Lance Hicks, Zach Easterling, Joshua Stark, and Blane Romero each tallied a hit.

Friday’s victory gives Oak Ridge their ninth district win and moves them one step closer to clinching a playoff spot. However, they remain one and a half games back of first place as The Woodlands and Klein Collins both picked up wins on Friday. The War Eagles host Klein Oak at War Eagles Stadium, Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m.

For College Park, Billy Decker got the start. He went five innings and struck out three before being replaced by Brandon Garza. With the loss, College Park drops to 2-11 in the district and have been eliminated from playoff contention. Their next game will be at Klein Oak on Thursday, April 18 at 7 p.m.
