THE WOODLANDS, TX --

College Park 13, Oak Ridge 7

The Cavaliers offense cooked up 12 combined runs in the middle three innings to complete the season sweep of the War Eagles. The win creates a three-way tie at 9-5 in District 13-6A between College Park, Oak Ridge, and The Woodlands, with one game remaining.

College Park and Oak Ridge played hot potato with the lead to start Tuesday night’s game. CP’s Carter Gorling opened the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI single. Then, after Jett Feltman answered with an RBI double in the bottom of the inning, Oak Ridge took the lead in the second after Michael Lopez hit a solo home run to right field. That lead was gone in the top of the third thanks to Cal Garcia’s RBI single that gave College Park a 3-2 lead.

The Cavs never relinquished the lead again as they caught fire starting in the fourth inning. Holden Rook (4-4, two RBIs) and Hank Hudson (3-5, 3 RBIs) played a large role in the 10 runs scored in the fourth and fifth innings. Rook tripled before scoring on a wild pitch to kick things off. Hudson followed with an RBI double to give CP a 5-2 lead.

In the fifth, Hudson drove in two runs on a single into in right field to make it 10-4. Rook added a two-run RBI of his own later in the inning to complete the barrage of runs by College Park.
