THE WOODLANDS -- College Park and The Woodlands have been rivals ever since they opened the College Park campus back in 2005. Splitting up the schools created a friendly rivalry in all sports, and extracurricular activities. For the most part all the games and matches go either way with The Woodlands and College Park both winning equally. The best teams in the football district however gained notoriety because they have been established as some of the best in the state. Tonight, was the War of the Woods where The Woodlands hosted College Park at Woodforest for the final game of district.

In the first couple of minutes College Park made the statement that they were here to play and play hard. They scored within minutes and held the lead from then on. While The Woodlands was trying to catch up, the College Park defense created a wall and forced some turnovers as well as a couple of fumbles. As The Woodlands recovered from the fumbles, College Park made some huge plays down the field. Unfortunately, not making any conversions in the endzone. Both teams seemed to be on the same page, by making huge stops and forcing errors on both sides of the ball. With minutes left The Woodlands put pressure on Ty Buckman who, was forced to rush in for a College Park touchdown. Making the score 14-10 at the half.

The second half is what everyone was waiting on as both teams shine in the later quarters. The Woodlands came out swinging running and leaping over the College Park defenders and scoring four unanswered touchdowns in the second half. Not only was the offence on fire, but the defense was also stopping the College Park run and pass creating many turnovers on downs. More than anything The Woodlands put pressure on the College Park quarterback, Ty Buckman as he tried to find any open receiver. Unfortunately for College Park, The Woodlands shut them out in the second half keeping them scoreless.

The Woodlands becomes district champions, defeating College Park 45-14. They are set to face Spring in the first game of the post-season.
