12 Things We Are Thankful for This Holiday Season
2021 has been an eventful year for Tachus. With your support we’ve grown, brought our service into new communities, and even moved to a new home! We have a lot to be thankful for. That’s why as we get closer to Christmas and the end of 2021, we at Tachus would like to take a moment to reflect on the 12 things we are most thankful for this holiday season:
1. Our growing team
Recently, the Tachus team surpassed 120 members and is already nearing 130! That means that as your local Internet provider Tachus is now made up of nearly 130 residents of the communities it serves. We’re truly grateful for each and every staff member and their own unique contribution to our mission.
2. Our new home
To fit the growing number of our team, we moved into a new home in Research Forest! We’re still based in The Woodlands, but we’re now in a space that can accommodate our whole team as we continue to expand. We’re thankful to have a home in which we can continue to work and grow together as we more effectively deliver our service to our communities and customers.
3. Lighting 10,000 customers and beyond
Earlier this year, we announced our 10,000th customer in The Woodlands. We were thrilled to hit this milestone in fewer than three years, and have since worked to bring our service to more residents in our communities. Now with over 12,000 customers, we cannot express enough how grateful we are to have the trust of so many residents in our communities.
4. Passing over 40,000 homes
Another milestone we reached this year was 40,000 total homes passed. Throughout Lake Conroe, Kingwood, and The Woodlands, now over 41,000 homes have access to a future-proof, reliable fiber Internet service that we have made available to them. We’re thrilled to bring our 100% fiber connection to so many residences.
5. Passing 700 miles of fiber laid in our communities
In order to pass over 41,000 homes with our network, we have laid over 700 miles of fiber into our network. This approximately 700-mile fiber network uses redundant pathways, giving customers the most reliable service possible and ensuring they stay online during even the harshest of conditions.
6. Lighting our first homes in Harris County
Yet another milestone Tachus is proud to have hit is our first home in Harris County. Until earlier this year, all of our communities and homes were within Montgomery County. However, because our goal has always been to serve more communities throughout Greater Houston, we always knew we would enter Harris County sooner or later. We’re thrilled to have connected our first homes in Harris County in central Kingwood, and we look forward to serving other Harris County communities in the future.
7. Our partners in our communities we work alongside to serve our customers
In our construction, advertising, public relations, and other functions that help us bring our service to our customers, we work alongside other local businesses who help us make that happen as quickly and smoothly as possible. We’re thankful for what they do.
8. Bringing our service into our fourth region
Earlier this year, we announced that we would build our network in Atascocita, marking our fourth region served after Lake Conroe, The Woodlands, and Kingwood. To have gained a following across four different regions throughout Montgomery and Harris County within three years is an accomplishment we are proud of and grateful for.
9. The opportunity to give back to our communities
One of our values at Tachus is to be a part of our communities, and we’re always thankful for the opportunity to do that by giving back. We’ve never felt more a part of our communities than when we contribute to or partner with organizations such as Angel Reach, Montgomery County Women’s Center, Meals on Wheels, and No Kid Hungry.
10. Our local community events
Another great way for us to be a part of our communities is through our local events. We enjoy hosting fun activities like movie nights, attending local festivals, and sponsoring events in the community because it gives us the opportunity to directly interact with you and your neighbors. Without these events, we wouldn’t get to meet the people we want to bring our service to. As a local provider, the ability to do this is something for which we’re truly grateful.
11. Providing a dependable service that families can use to connect during the holidays
The holiday season is the Internet’s busiest time of the year, and Christmas is the busiest day. Whether you’re shopping for gifts, facetiming out of town family, or trying out your new gadgets on Christmas morning, you and countless other people will have more reason than ever to go online. It’s not lost on us that our customers are trusting us to help them do this, and it means a lot to us that they have chosen Tachus to keep them connected and celebrate the holidays with loved ones near and far.
