Classes Next Week and Upcoming Events (January 31st - February 4th)


Your health and safety are very important to us. We do observe mask wearing and social distancing unless eating/drinking or in in an exercise class. We also have several air purifiers in all of our gathering spaces. Please call our reception desk with any questions or to reserve a seat in a class (#713-897-5939).

Canopy welcomes anyone affect by cancer, and all services free of charge (thanks to generous philanthropic support). We offer both in-person and virtual services. Our activities include peer support groups, gentle exercise, art therapy, drama therapy, language classes, education, social activities, wig fitting, breast prosthesis and post-mastectomy bra fittings, and oncology-related counseling services. We continue to operate from 9AM to 4PM Monday through Thursday, and 9AM to 2PM on Fridays.

Some things to watch for:


  • Calling all readers...would you like to join our book club? We are planning to start monthly book club meetings in March. If you are interested in this please email Kate to reserve a seat (


  • "Healing Meals" are coming back! This program offers small prepared meals for survivors recovering after surgery. "Healing meals" will be available starting February 2nd onsite here at Canopy. Service is available while supplies last. 


  •  Do you like to paint? We will have "Strength of Heart" resilience rock painting on Friday February 11th. This class will be led by Trisha Kerr, retired LPC, RN, CNS/PMH.


  • Do you need a little self-care? Please join us for a wonderful Valentine's Day treat as we make "self care kits" with bath salts and essential oil sachets. This make-&-take project has limited seating, and pre-registration is required. If you would like to attend, please give us a call to reserve a seat (#713-897-5939).


  • Chair yoga classes will be starting soon! Mark your calendars...starting February 18th, chair yoga classes will be held on Fridays at 9:30am. Come join us for a seated work out!
