HS Baseball: Grand Oaks Takes Down Willis at Home

THE WOODLANDS, TX – For softball it was opening day but for baseball it was the second week of a long season. Due to weather other games were cancelled but Grand Oaks and Willis faced each other Tuesday night. This game would determine who would have their first victory of the season.
Grand Oaks, just like the Lady Grizzlies, got off to a quick lead bringing in a single run at the third. Willis responded with a couple of hits but ultimately left runners on base. Hudson Hamilton proceeded to heat up the field, retiring 12 in 6.2 innings pitched.
Up by 2, the Grizzlies subbed in Noah O’Farrell to finish off the final Willis batter. With a fresh arm O’Farrell retired the final batter, Giving Grand Oaks their first win of the season. Grand Oaks is set to travel to Oak Ridge on Friday for their final game of the week.
