By: Woodlands Online Sports | Published 11/21/2022

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- After defeating the Klein Cain Hurricanes 62-21, The Woodlands has moved on to the regional round to face #3 Duncanville who holds an undefeated record in their 2022 season. They will match up at Pflugerville Stadium – The Pfield, right outside of Austin, Texas, Saturday November 26th at 3 pm.

Duncanville will come into this matchup as the favorite to win but it will be a monumental meetup as The Woodlands look to keep their winning streak alive. The Woodlands have only lost 2 of their matches, one coming from 6A newcomer New Caney and the other at the beginning of the season to #2 in the state, North Shore.

Mabrey Mettauer, 4-star quarterback for the class of 2024, will lead The Woodlands on Saturday. With weapons like Farrakhan jr., Arkez Gomez and Shane Walker, Mettauer will have his choice to throw the long ball or have Gomez run through the Duncanville defense.

The winner of round 3 will face wither Waxahachie or Westfield the week after. The Woodlands looks to make a deep run and prove they are meant to hang with the big powerhouses in Texas.
