Yes, it's a Heatwave

Believe it or not, yesterday we were six degrees below average for our high temperature and only eight degrees away from a record low. You wouldn't know it today, as a heat wave has moved in and decided to stay for the next week or so.
We're set to break the previous record for a May 13 of 93 degrees todday by a couple of degrees, adding even more to the heat index. Daytime breezes up to 15 miles per hour will cool the brow a bit, as will some cloud cover, but there's no rain at all in the forecast through at least the end of the month.
For the next seven days, we'll most likely experience highs in the mid to upper 90s (with heat indexes that will probably break the 100 mark) under partly cloudy skies punctuated by daytime winds, with lows in the mid and upper 70s.
After that, around midweek next week, things will cool down to normal; we'll remain in the 90s for our highs, but on the low end, and some overnights that will get back down into the 60s.
But have no doubt; the chances of us having another prolonged stretch of high temps in the 80s is probably gone for the next three or four months, so plan accordingly!
