August Spotlight- Citizen's Grill
American Kitchen & Bar
Our Spotlight partner for August is Citizen’s Grill. If you haven’t eaten there yet, you owe it to yourself to get in there for lunch or dinner and see what all the chatter is about.
Citizen’s Grill Americana Kitchen & Bar opened in June and is off to a rapid start in gaining popularity with neighboring communities. Tucked into the Marcel Town Center directly across the street from the Xscape Theatre at 315 Enclave Drive, it is one of the best places for quality comfort cuisine.
Managing partner Jim Hallers is very familiar with the restaurant business. Originally creating and operating the first Tailgators Pub and Grill in 2009 on Hwy 242 in Conroe, Jim has gone on to build a remodel a total of 10 restaurants and bars since the first Tailgators was opened. Citizen’s Grill is his eleventh project and he saw a need for a high-quality restaurant in a growing area.
Featuring Americana comfort food in an upscale setting, the restaurant boasts two bars, a large enclosed patio for parties, a private dining area, a family dining area, and a strictly “adults” area with its own bar.
“Those dining with us want good food at a reasonable price”, said Hallers. “At Citizens Grill we can accommodate 100 people for an event, 20 people for an intimate gathering, or family dining in our main room. The consistency and quality of our food and service is a big reason for our rapid rise in popularity.”
Specialties that bring people back in the restaurant include the Chicken Fried Steak with Jalapeno Cream Gravy, Spicy Shrimp Tacos, the Citizens Burger (1/2 lb. brisket, short rib, sirloin patty topped with spinach, red onion, tomato, jalapeno cream cheese), and the Double Bone-In Pork Chop with BBQ Bacon Glaze. And if you love salmon, Citizen’s Grill serves farm sustainably raised fresh salmon from the Antarctic.
And what would “Americana” food be without a classic dessert of peach or blackberry cobbler served with Blue Bell Ice Cream?
Hallers believes in local businesses supporting other local businesses. All the draft beers on the menu are listed in order of proximity – Local Conroe/Magnolia, then Houston, next all draft beer from Texas, and finally Everything Else! Yes, you can have craft beer from all four local breweries!
Serving 23 wines by the glass, 40 beers on tap, with two full bars, Citizens Grill is the cozy and classy place to meet with friends, eat great food, and come back for the friendly experience.
“It’s about time the Northside of The Woodlands had a great restaurant! Once you dine with us you will return with friends, quite often within a few days,” boasted Hallers.
