TWHS catcher Drew Romo drafted by Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies selected The Woodlands Highlanders catcher Drew Romo with the 35th overall pick of the 2020 MLB Draft. Romo was ranked number 35 on the Top 200 Draft Prospects list thanks to his .397 batting average to go along with 35 RBI’s and four home runs in 2019.
Romo is currently committed to LSU, but will likely forego college eligibility after being drafted high. Romo has also been a starter on the Team USA U18 team for the past two seasons. This is the highest the Rockies have drafted a catcher in their team’s history.
