GNC files for bankruptcy
GNC, the popular nutritional store known for selling vitamins and sports supplements, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will close around 1,200 stores across the country.
The Pittsburgh-based company will stay in business, but function as a smaller company by shutting down about 20% of its locations. The first 248 stores set to close include seven Texas locations, one near downtown Houston on Westheimer road. As of now, the three Woodlands locations remain in business.
