Keep an Eye on the Gulf | Pair of Tropical Disturbances May Impact The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Make sure to keep an eye on the Gulf of Mexico for the next week or two. A pair of disturbances may impact weather in The Woodlands. 

Disturbance #1 (Tropical Depression 7)

This particular system will impact pur weekend weather by bringing a lot of rain to the region.

Here is the latest information from the National Hurricane Center:

A tropical wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, central and southern Florida, and western Cuba. Gradual development of this system is possible while it moves west-northwestward, and a tropical depression could form during the next few days. This disturbance is expected to move over the central Gulf today, and reach the northwestern Gulf on Thursday and Friday. An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system later today, if necessary.

* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

Disturbance #2 (Tropical Storm Gonzalo)

Though it's early to positively say that this tropical storm will impact Southeast Texas, it is moving in a westerly direction and will move into the Caribbean by next Monday. 

Here is the latest information from the National Hurricane Center:

Gonzalo is expected to move near or over the southern Windward Islands this weekend, and could bring direct impacts from winds and heavy rainfall. While it is too soon to determine the magnitude and timing of those impacts, interests in the southern Windward Islands should monitor the progress of Gonzalo.
