THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Water-saving Native Plant of The Week by Bob Dailey: Inland Sea Oats (Chasmanthium latifolium). Native, shade-loving perennial grass that has a beautiful form often found in woodland settings. Will grow in moist conditions but is very drought-tolerant once established. The seed heads in fall make a soft, soothing rustling sound in the wind. The seeds are food for many species of wildlife from birds to mammals.
