THE WOODLANDS, TX - Just in time for Christmas, Jupiter and Saturn will be within 0.1° of each other on Monday, December 21, creating the illusion of one large "Christmas Star." You can best see the conjunction between just before dusk and about 20 minutes after sunset.

Not since 1623 have these two planets come within a degree of each other. The next time this will occur will be in 2080, so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event. Look towards the southwest shortly after sunset to see the 2020 Christmas Star.
