The Cincinnati Bengals selected University of Texas edge rusher and former Oak Ridge War Eagle Joseph Ossai with the 69th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Ossai will join Ja’Marr Chase and Jackson Carman, who the Bengals selected in the first and second rounds.

Before Ossai’s playmaking skills at Texas led him to the NFL, he was dominating on Friday nights at Oak Ridge High School. Ossai recorded 104 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 25 TFLs, and six forced fumbles as a junior and senior for the War Eagles.

Ossai was a two-time first-team all-district player among many other accolades in high school before going on to Texas where he played 36 games (started 26) and earned consensus All-American honors along with the All-Big 12 First Team in 2020.
