Heisey crystal glass is characterized by extremely high quality, evident in the clarity and brilliance of the glass. The refined surface was obtained through flame/fire polishing. During the process, the glass is exposed to a flame until its surface melts and creates smoothness.
The A.H. Heisey Company was formed in Newark, Ohio, in 1896 by A.H. Heisey. The factory provided fine quality glass tableware and decorative glass figurines. Beginning in 1900, the Heisey Glass Company marked all of its products with a new logo: a diamond with an "H" in the center. This remained the company's distinguishing mark until its closing in 1958.
