Yamaha Background
The Yamaha Piano Company started building pianos in 1887 and along with Kawai is considered the largest piano manufacture in the world. Yamaha grand piano models were always considered good quality and are a popular choice for music schools, universities, and even concert venues. Since the 1970’s Yamaha did a very good job of convincing popular artists such as Elton John, Diana Krall, and more to play on Yamaha grand piano models. This was a very important move in the growth of the Yamaha company and has sold thousands of Yamaha grand piano models around the world.
The G series was Yamaha’s top of the line before the C series came into production. The G series Yamaha pianos were produced in Yamaha’s best factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. All of Yamaha’s professional grade pianos come from this factory, including the concert grand CFX.
Yamaha grand piano G2 also was the first medium Yamaha grand piano to feature the duplex scaling which at the time was only found in larger higher end pianos such as the Steinway grand or Mason & Hamlin.
