Dancing With the Stars icon Val Chmerkovskiy will make sure The American Heart Association puts its best foot forward when it celebrates a milestone anniversary with the 15th annual Montgomery County Go Red for Women Sweet 15 Celebration.
The May 23 event will run from 1-4 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and will feature several exhibitions and vendors, including an appearance by Chmerkovskiy and a dance team from Dance With Me Studios.
Chmerkovskiy and Dance With Me’s appearance are just one of the highlights of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign to raise money and awareness about heart disease. The keynote speaker at Go Red for Women will be Connie Watt, vice president of the J.J. Watt Foundation and mother of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt.
The Go Red for Women Sweet 15 will also feature Anna King, who was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at the age of 12 and received a heart transplant at the age of 14. Five years later King is in college studying graphic design. She will share her journey of heart health with an inspirational TED talk.
