Virtual Racing is basically like running a traditional race with tons of other people…just not all at the same place. No crowds, no waking up at dawn to find parking and rush to get to the start line on time, no worrying about bad weather at race time. The same friendly competition, t-shirts, medals, finish line selfies and results - only you pick the route, time your performance and report your results!
Swim, Bike, Run. We provide the distance but you choose your course. For those that do not have access to a pool, the Shadowbend Y pool will be available on September 19th, (reservation only) to swim your event laps. Parent must bring a timing device and will time their child's swimming. One parent allowed on deck and parent must wear a mask. Click here to reserve a lane.
For ages 5 – 15, age as of August 24, 2020
For all skills levels. All children must be able to swim several laps of the pool, unassisted.
For safety reasons, all athletes are required to wear a bike helmet.
Registration fee is $30.
Mobile Drive Thru Packet Pick Up:
There is an option to have your packet mailed for an additional fee.
Annually, Hundreds of children experience the challenge and fun of friendly athletic competition as they run, swim and bike to the finish line of the YMCA Kids Triathlon.
In its ten+ years of promoting fitness and confidence in children, the Kids Triathlon, presented by Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands, benefits the YMCA Annual Campaign, which ensures everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
"The Kids Triathlon provides children the chance to accomplish a goal while making new friends and feeling like they belong,” says Roxanne Davis, Community Liaison “And because proceeds from the event go to local Y programs like life-saving swim lessons and after school programs, it supports youth development and wellness beyond race day.”
Boys and girls will compete separately in events designed for their age group. Children ages 6 – 9 will swim 50 meters, cycle for 1 mile and run ¼ of a mile. Children ages 10 – 12 will swim 100 meters, cycle for 2 miles and run ½ mile. Teens ages 13-15 will swim 150 meters, cycle for 3 miles and run 1 mile.
Together as a community. The Kids Triathlon is made possible by generous sponsors, community members and volunteers.
