Job Description

Growing CPA firm located in The Woodlands, Texas is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with firm management on all aspects of tax and accounting engagements for businesses and individuals. This position represents an excellent growth opportunity for a career-minded professional in a family-oriented CPA firm.

Key responsibilities include:
• Manage workflow and processes for all tax engagements
• Preparation of individual and business entities' income, payroll, and sales tax returns
• Tax planning services
• Tax and accounting research projects
• Build relationships with clients through direct communication and in-person meetings
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects and competing deadlines
• Recruit new clients through professional networking and other standard channels
• Review work of staff associates and provide professional feedback and guidance

To qualify for the role, you must have:
• Valid CPA license or credentialed IRS Enrolled Agent (EA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in income taxation
• Experience working in a public accounting firm
• Broad understanding of and experience with federal income taxation
• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Experience researching and reporting on tax related questions
• Strong work ethic with a particular emphasis on professional integrity and reliability
• Commitment to excellence and a passion for client service
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Strong project management capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving ability and attention to detail
• Willingness to embrace a paperless workplace and digital project management

Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Experience with UltraTax tax preparation software
• Experience working with high net worth clients
• Experience working with small and medium size business clients

• $60,000 - $100,000 annual compensation
