Food Service Manager, Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Responsible for the safe and timely preparation of breakfast, lunch and snacks to meet 2/3 of the nutritional requirements of children. Insures that a pleasant and healthful environment is provided at meal times. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Food Preparation and Hygiene
Purchase food and supplies according to the posted menu and needs of school staff.
Prepare and store food according to appropriate food hygiene standards.
Wash, sterilize and store dishes, utensils and pots according to required standards.
Maintain and clean refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and cupboards according to required standards.
Insure that counters and sinks are scrubbed and floor is swept and mopped after meals.
Implement a monthly cleaning schedule for the food service area, including washing walls, waxing floors and cleaning all parts of equipment used in food service.
Maintain food service reports.
Insure that food and supply budget is met.
Meet Health Department and Child Care Food Program requirements.
Obtain and maintain Food Managers Certification.
We offer vacation, sick and holiday pay after acceptable completion of first 90 days.
Must know basic cooking skills and kitchen math. Must know how to follow a recipe and calculate how much to double, triple, quadruple recipe based on amount of children eating on any given day. Must have vehicle and insurance on vehicle to travel to local store for groceries. (We reimburse IRS mileage rate.) Must be able to carry 25 pounds. Must be able to work quickly and be on your feet often. Must have good time management skills. Must be dependable.
Min. $9.00/hr + based on exp/edu
