Job Description

This position is responsible for managing daily operations of a busy, OPHTHALMOLOGY practice ensuring efficient office operations and organizational goals are met. Successful candidate must be comfortable with front office oversight and have ability to 'set-the-tone.' The office manager must ensure exceptional customer service for our patients.
Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the front and back offices including scheduling, reception and insurance authorization/verification
• Responsible for hiring, training, development and evaluation of the office staff
• Responsible for promoting a customer service orientation throughout the practice
- Responsible for compiling daily receipts and generating daily and monthly reports
- Responsible for submitting insurance claims, monitoring reimbursements, and submitting appeals
• Direct, plan and coordinate the work of the office staff.
• Manage staff schedule and time off requests while providing appropriate coverage for staffing
• Maintain employee morale while holding employees accountable for their actions
• Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications
• Must have at least two years medical office management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with medical providers, office staff, administration and patients
• Thorough knowledge of all functions in a medical business office
• Must be creative, high energy and a proficient multi-tasker.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction
• Proficient with computer software applications and medical office systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
