Job Description

Front Office Supervisor needed for growing Ophthalmology Practice in Spring.

Summary:

The supervisor is responsible for maintaining adequate oversight, staffing and service levels to support a high level of personal interaction and satisfaction for the patients of Whitsett Vision Group. This includes the following functions; check-in, check-out, records management and office management for the assigned location. This position is a working leader; will need to be hands-on in all front office functions.

Some Saturday morning work may be required. May occasionally travel to other locations.

Selected Responsibilities:

Manages and performs front office duties, including check-in, check-out, scheduling and records management
Ensures all employees are properly trained and adhere to the performance standards of WVG; coaching, training, correcting and appraising performance
Maintains a professional, high-quality and service-oriented environment at all times
Monitors and maintains office efficiency and manages daily workflow
Provides resolution to any patient issues
Completes audits on all patient accounts coming in the following day
Provides support to front office and routinely performs front office duties.
Provides assistance to Administration as requested
Reviews/approves front office staff time prior to payroll submission
Other special projects and duties as assigned

Skills Required

HS or equivalent; some college preferred
Min five (5) years’ experience in a medical office front office; experience in Ophthalmology / Optometry preferred; two (2) years of supervisory experience needed.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a +
Basic medical terminology, medical insurance and able to explain plan benefits to patients
Advanced knowledge of NextGen or similar database application
