Qualifications
• Medical Office Experience: 5 Years (Required)
• EMR: 2 Years (Required)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
• High School Diploma
• CPR/AED Certification
General Summary
Reporting to the Meridian Springs Primary Care Owner and Lead Physician provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the clinic and consistent with the training of a certified medical assistant.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide clerical support to other medical staff.
• Answering phone, patient questions (no medical advice to be given to patient without the approval of the medical provider unless it is to direct patient to the Emergency Room or Department/dial 911 for an emergency).
• Greet, screen (confirm a patient and address any outstanding billing issues) and direct patients to exam rooms.
• Obtain, verify, and update patient information in electronic medical record (“EMR”).
• Obtain chief complaint of patient after directed to exam room, obtain vital signs, update and reconcile medication list and document all in EMR.
• Schedule patients in EMR.
• Call/email/text patients with test results annotated by physician and documenting this communication with each patient that patient’s chart in EMR.
• Triaging patient calls or medical questions from patients and communicating to the physician or provider.
• Proper documentation of any communication of any kind with the patient to include nature of communication, date and time of said communication.
• Management of patient records including obtaining, verifying and updating/uploading, transferring following all HIPAA/HITECH policies and procedures.
• Answer patient emails regarding office procedures/issues questions. No medical information to be transmitted without approval from physician or provider. If medical advice or information to be communicated by Medical Assistant to patient, the correspondence will clearly document “Dr. Rao aware, informed and is providing the following recommendations…”
• Participate in dispensing medications per the medication dispensing policy to include counting approved prescriptions and packaging in policy approved containers. Medical Assistant is not allowed to hand any prescriptions NOT APPROVED by physician or provider to a patient.
• Inform Medical Assistant or physician/provider if inventory of any item is running low.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of office equipment.
• Assist the physician or provider with medical procedures, drawing labs, administering immunizations or IM injections, taking vital signs, performing EKG’s, peak flows, spirometry, administering nebulizers and other routinely perform in-office services consistent with the training of a medical assistant.
• Maintaining the expectations/standards dictated by the HIPAA/HITECH policies and procedures.
• Sign and abide by Non-Solicitation, Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement in the office and outside of the office at all times during employment and for 2 years thereafter per the agreement.
• Perform daily or weekly billing for ancillaries and patient fees.
• Reconciliation of designated vendor bills

• Proficient typing and computer skills.

Compensation:

$13-$15/hour
