Job Description

This position is responsible for scheduling staff and student to teacher ratios in the classroom and representing the facility well when touring parents and prospective parents around the facility; hiring staff, managing enrollment and overseeing day-to-day activities.

Essential Job Duties:

• Develops and implements center operating policies and activities as required and in collaboration with the management team.
• Manages the scheduling of staff in classrooms to ensure adequate staff to student ratios are maintained.
• Manages staff time off requests in a manner to ensure classroom ratio compliance and other business operational needs are met.
• Manages compliance programs for the center to ensure all center operations, activities and staff performance are in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained in the center, and manages staff training and in-service programs.
• Plans, develops, schedules, and/or provide in-service training and evaluation of child care staff.
• Manages staff performance through coaching and corrective action, when appropriate.
• Ensures that problems encountered by staff are addressed timely and appropriately in accordance with company policy, procedure and practice.
• Coordinates and leads facility tours with parents, prospective clients, visitors and guests.
• Ensures all incoming and outgoing calls, voice messages, and emails are handled and addressed appropriately and timely through proper delegation of administrative duties to assigned administrative staff.
• Supervises activities performed by onsite staff performing cooking duties and related tasks.
• Ensures all parents, guests and visits are greeted in a professional, courtesy and hospital manner.
• Administers and manages workforce parent copays.
• Ensures ProCare accounts are reviewed regularly for completeness and accuracy, and makes necessary and appropriate changes to accounts in the system in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
• Conducts classroom walk-thrus to ensure schedules, curriculum, policies, procedures and best practices are consistently applied in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
• Coaches and assists staff in addressing routine child behavior issues, and handles escalated child behavior issues timely and appropriately.
• Recruits and schedules children to attend the center for services
• Maintains accurate and complete records for child enrollments, waiting lists, attendance, immunizations, incidents and other related activity.
• Interfaces with parents and guardians on a regular basis to ensure adequate communication and updates are provided in relation to child progress and activity and center related information and updates.
• Addresses routine questions and concerns from parents and guardians, and escalates non-routine matters to the Owner(s).
• Participates in conducting marketing campaigns, fund raising, and public relations with parents, prospective attendees of the center, and within the community.
• Ensures supply and equipment levels are maintained adequately and in proper safe working order.
• Manages staff and child safety program at the center.
• Prepares and maintains administrative, business, and billing reports and records for the center to include recording fee payments, preparing billing reports, and taking follow up actions as required for any late payments.
• Assists with annual budgeting and forecasts for the center in accordance with business goals
• Directs the organization and follow-up of special activities such as off-campus field trips.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Associate’s degree in education, business administration, or related field
Texas Director's Certificate in child care center administration
(5+) Five+ years of experience working as an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR and/or DIRECTOR LEVEL capacity within a preschool center setting or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have a valid Driver's License w/o any restrictions & reliable transportation
Must have (or willing to acquire) CPR & First Aid Certification
