THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Specialized Therapy and Rehab Services (S.T.A.R.S.) is now shining in the ever-developing medical epicenter of The Woodlands.

Located on the first floor of the St. Luke’s Community Medical Center – The Woodlands Medical Arts Center II, the comprehensive outpatient rehab center offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, as well as dietary and nutritional counseling.

From chronic pain and post surgery to work and sports related injuries, The Woodlands Specialized Therapy and Rehab Services is equipped with an all-star team of professional therapists and an array of state-of-the-art equipment to fully treat a wide range of therapeutic conditions.

Most notable, the center offers neurological rehabilitation for patients who have suffered from traumatic brain injuries such as an accident, or stroke, or from neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.

According to founder Mohna Zintgraff, PT, MPT, who is a physical therapist and a neuro-developmental technique specialist, The Woodlands S.T.A.R.S. has experienced tremendous response since its opening in December.

“In developing my initial plans, I wanted to create a therapy and rehab center which incorporated all of the major therapeutic disciplines under one roof, and in order to do this I knew had to have the foundation of a top quality staff,” explained Zintgraff. “The team I was able to put together makes The Woodlands S.T.A.R.S. a leader in comprehensive outpatient rehab in our community.

“Physicians are excited to be able to refer their patients for multiple therapy disciplines within one convenient setting for their continuity of care. We are dedicated to helping our patients begin healing and feeling better.”

Moreover, Zintgraff said often times people are instructed by their physician to start exercising to prevent or correct a problem, and her center can educate and teach them the proper exercises and techniques so that when they head to their community gym they won’t further aggravate the problem.

Zintgraff said the The Woodlands S.T.A.R.S. will soon add a female sports medicine therapy division dedicated to teenage and adult athletes. The center also plans to conduct educational outreach programs through wellness seminars that will be designed to inform the public about how to stay healthy and active.

With over eight years of experience, Mohna Zintgraff is a graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Sciences degree and a Masters of Physical Therapy degree. She holds a certification in Neuro Developmental Treatment – Adult Hemiplegia Bobath from Texas Women’s University. Her professional background includes work with TIRR Rehabilitation Centers, The Methodist Hospital and Transitional Learning Center.
