Woodlands to Host 4th Annual Wine Week

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands will once again play host to the Fourth Annual Wine and Food Week, June 2-8. The event features chefs from around the world, 50 events from seminars to taste testing, food and more than 500 wines.

This year's Wine and Food Week theme is South American and will bring six culinarians from Chile, Argentina and Peru. This year's festivities will also focus on organic, sustainable and local products in an effort to be more environmentally-conscious. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Greater Houston Area Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Cost for attendance ranges from free to $250 for exclusive wine-tasting.

Event Highlights

This year will also feature the debut of Natural Street at Market Street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. This family-friendly event will take place at Central Park in Market Street and will feature samples of green products, hybrid cars, onsite recycling and musical entertainment. Young Chefs Academy in The Woodlands will also be on hand to give hands-on cooking lessons to children. Admission to this event is free with any recyclable item.

The popular H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5. Thirty booths and businesses will be on hand offering wine and food samples. Advance tickets to the Wine Walk are $50, and $55 at the door if tickets have not already sold out.

Friday Night on the Northshore will feature a value wines happy hour that begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at The Woodlands Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Guests will be able to sample over 100 wines valued under $15. Admission is $38 per person.

The Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting and South American Chef Showcase gets underway at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 at The Woodlands Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Participants can test more than 500 wines and culinary creations from regional, national and international chefs. Tickets to this main attraction cost $98.

The festivities wind down on Sunday, June 8, at 2:30 p.m. with Barefoot on The Waterway. Attendees will get barefoot and enjoy Barefoot Bubbly Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and White Zinfandel as they cruise The Woodlands Waterway.
