Armed Men Steal $96,000 From Grocery Store Bank

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Shortly after noon on Friday, July 18, two armed men robbed the Amegy Bank located inside the Kroger at 295 Sawdust Road.

According to police, Amegy Bank employees and witnesses reported that two black men exited a black Dodge Durango that was parked in front of the Kroger. The driver, described as a black man, of the Durango remained in the SUV while the other two men, one brandishing an “SKS” style rifle and the other an automatic pistol, went inside the grocery store. The armed suspects ordered the tellers at the Amegy Bank to open the vault and the suspects fled the scene with approximately $96,000.

The black Dodge Durango was recovered half a mile from the scene, but the suspects were not found. One of the armed suspects was wearing a blue jump suit with sunglasses and a red bandana covering his face. The other amred robber had a black rag over his face and a baseball cap.
