Market Street Tree Lighting Tonight

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The holidays officially kick off tonight, Thursday, November 20, at 6 p.m. when Market Street hosts its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Central Park.

Three-year old Sean Montemurnos, his parents Shannon and Nick and older brother Michael have been selected to ceremoniously light the 70-foot Christmas tree. The Montemurnos family was selected from a number of submissions to Market Street, each of which nominated a deserving child to serve as this year’s official tree lighter. Market Street’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is free and open to the public.

The celebration continues on Saturday, November 22, from 1-4 p.m. when professional photographer Bree Kid will be on hand to take photos of the entire family at the Market Street Christmas tree. Proceeds from the event, known as Rock Around The Christmas Tree, will benefit the Heart’s Provider Health Network, a program that helps uninsured residents access much-needed health care.
