THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The burrito is a staple in Tex-mex cuisine and Chipotle has had that market cornered in The Woodlands. Whenever someone had a craving for a giant, overstuffed burrito overflowing with cheesy-beany goodness, they would head over to Chipotle at Market Street. However, a new burrito alternative is set to open this summer in The Woodands.

Freebirds will open a new location in The Woodlands at the Pinecroft Shopping Center, next to The Woodlands Oriental Rug Gallery, during the second week of July. The popular fast-casual restaurant is known for their made to order burritos and burrito bowls (without the tortilla), offering a variety of tortillas, meats, cheeses, beans, vegetables. Sides such as chips, salsa, queso, and soups are also served.

First opened in Santa Barbra, California in 1987, Freebirds now has 19 locations in Texas, with restaurants in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. The new location will be the sixth Freebirds in the greater Houston area. Freebirds is bound to be the next big restaurant in The Woodlands.
