Registration Begins for 10 For Texas Race
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Community Associations of The Woodlands Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the Fourth Annual 10 For Texas 10-mile race and Second Annual One 4 Texas Kids’ Fun Run scheduled for Saturday, October 10.
The 10 For Texas race will be a USA Track and Field sanctioned event with a certified 10-mile course starting at 7:30 a.m. on Lake Robbins Drive and travel down Woodlands Parkway on to Lake Woodlands Drive. The race will end at Market Street where the Texas-sized post-race party will begin and feature the Jason Allen Band. The race and post-race party will have a Texas flare, and all spectators and runners are encouraged to join in the fun following the race.
The Second Annual One 4 Texas Kids’ Fun Run takes place at Market Street and will begin at 7 a.m. This non-competitive event is designed to promote fun and fitness for kids, ages 5 to 12 years old.
The event is co-produced by the Community Associations of The Woodlands and Luke’s Locker, and benefits The Woodlands Recreation Center, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization. Official Sponsors for 10 For Texas include Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Sports Medicine, Market Street, Saucony and The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Drury Inn is providing rooms at a discounted rate of $89.99 and has set aside a block of rooms for 10 For Texas participants.
The fee to register for 10 For Texas is $45 through September 15, $50 September 16 through October 9, and $60 the day of the event. One 4 Texas registration fee is $15 through October 9, and $20 the day of the event. Register online at the Community Associations' Web site or in person at The Woodlands Recreation Center, 5310 Research Forest Drive, or any Luke’s Locker location in the Houston region.
