Brady Delivers Health Care Bill to Library
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- On Friday afternoon Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) delivered a copy of the recently released House Health Care Reform bill to the South Montgomery County Library for the public to read.
The bill will also be available at the Central Library in Conroe and R.B. Tullis Library in New Caney. An electronic copy of the bill is available as a PDF document on the Montgomery County Memorial Library System's Web site. The 1,990 page bill is divided into 4 binders for the public to view.
Cong. Brady expressed his concerns about the legislation and urged the public to look at the bill and let their voices be heard. A vote on the bill is expected to reach the House floor next week on Thursday or Friday.
"This bill won't lower health care costs, will force people out of their employers plan and into the government plan, and will add to the national defecit," said Brady. "I think we can do better, but most of those ideas aren't in this bill." He also mentioned that response from constituents in the district has been overwhelmingly against the bill, but acknowledged that a House vote on the bill would be very evenly divided.
The South Montgomery County Library is open Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
