Urologist to host demo of the da Vinci® robotic Surgical System
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Urologist Dr. Steven Sukin will host a demonstration of the robotic da Vinci® Surgical System, an advanced minimally invasive treatment option for prostate cancer surgery, on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The hospital will also offer free screenings for Body Mass Index (BMI), cholesterol, blood pressure and more.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital in conference rooms 3 and 4. To R.S.V.P. please call 936 266-4050.
St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital is among only a handful of facilities across the country to offer this state-of-the-art, robotic minimally-invasive surgical procedure, which can result in faster recovery and less pain and scarring. Using the da Vinci Surgical System, the surgeon operates while seated comfortably at a console viewing a 3D image of the surgical field. The surgeon's fingers grasp the master controls below the display, with hands and wrists naturally positioned relative to his or her eyes. The system seamlessly translates the surgeon's hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time movements of surgical instruments inside the patient.
