THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Market Street will host the Tri-County Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMR) Services From the Heart program on Nov. 28 & Dec. 5 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and Nov. 29 & Dec. 6 from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

From the Heart is a holiday campaign done every year during the holiday season to help provide Tri-County MHMR Services (Tri-County) clients and their families with a better quality of life during the holidays. Tri-County clients, siblings, children, spouses and family members living in their homes are all included in the program. Clients are asked to fill out a “need and wish list” with needs and special requests. These lists are used to facilitate shopping for gifts and to help community members who would like to “adopt” a client and/or a family for the holidays. With the donations received, along with being able to adopt many families in the community, Tri-County was able to help over 750 people last year. Items requested varied from a winter coat, can opener or even pajamas for their child. Tri-County still has over 130 families that need to be adopted this holiday season.

Gifts for clients and families adopted from Market Street may be dropped off at Tradition Bank in The Woodlands. All gifts need to be picked up, wrapped and delivered back to Tradition Bank no later than December 8, 2009. If you need more information or would like to make a donation and/or adopt an individual consumer or family, please contact Kimberly Willing, Coordinator of Resource Development, at 936 521-6100. Donations are tax deductible where applicable by law.

Tri-County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services provide services to clients in Montgomery, Liberty and Walker counties. Tri-County works to ensure the provision of quality services for individuals with mental illness and mental retardation and enhance the quality of life in our community.
