Commercial developments in The Woodlands this Fall

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands is bustling with development activity, here is a recap of commercial developments taking place in The Woodlands during the fall of 2011.

Retail
Panera Bread
Location: 3313 College Park Drive (SH 242)
D’Agostino Companies is constructing a 4,000-square-foot Panera Bread restaurant on College Park Drive near Lone Star-Montgomery College and St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. Panera Bread is expected to open in December.

Valero Service Station
Location: Research Forest Drive & Six Pines Drive
DValero has purchased a 1.9-acre site at the southwest corner of Research Forest Drive and Six Pines Drive for construction of a 5,000-square- foot Valero Service Station, Corner Store, Taco Plus eatery and car wash. The station is scheduled for completion in late 2011.

The Container Store
Location: 1455 Lake Woodlands Drive
The Container Store is moving into the former Circuit City location on the Mall Ring Road in The Woodlands Town Center, with opening planned for November.

La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar
Location: 20 Waterway Avenue
AM Restaurants, Inc. is building this new restaurant featuring a lower level outdoor terrace in addition to 140-160 seats indoors. One of the highlights will be a Tequila “Museum” with 200 types of tequila. The restaurant is expected to open this fall.

Mi Cocina
Location: The Woodlands Mall Courtyard
This Mexican concept restaurant is expected to open in early November in the outdoor courtyard area of The Woodlands Mall next to Brio Tuscan Grille.

Hyatt Place Hotel
Location: Intersection of Research Forest Drive & Grogan’s Mill Road
Research Hotel Partners, L.P. has purchased a 4.3-acre site at the intersection of Research Forest Drive & Grogan’s Mill Road for construction of a Hyatt Place® Hotel that will contain 150 guestrooms and suites along with 6,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space. Construction is expected to begin in late 2011 with opening planned for mid-2013.

Frost Cupcakes & More
Location: 25 Waterway Avenue
Frost Cupcakes & More will open a 1,250-square-foot sweet shoppe in The Waterway Square District in December. The store will feature signature store-baked cupcakes in many gourmet varieties, as well as cookies, brownies, cakes, candy and merchandise.

Volkswagen of The Woodlands
Location: IH-45 northbound feeder road near The Woodlands Trade Center
Bayway Companies has purchased 5 acres of land in The Woodlands Trade Center for construction of a 25,000-square-foot Volkswagen dealership. The new showroom will offer both new and certified pre-owned cars, and is expected to open in mid-2012.

Petco
Location: Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center, Woodlands Parkway & Kuykendahl
A new 12,500-square-foot Petco store, featuring a wide range of pet supplies and services, is expected to open in late October.

Office
Technology Forest Professional Plaza
Location: Technology Forest Drive, next to VillaSport
D’Agostino Companies is constructing a two-story, 50,000-square-foot professional/office building that will be available in December.

Research Forest Lakeside
Location: Northwest side of Lake Woodlands
Warmack Investments is building 11 office buildings totaling 1.9 million square feet adjacent to the Aon Hewitt campus on Lake Woodlands. Two buildings totaling 420,000 square feet have been completed and a third 68,000- square-foot building is under construction with completion planned for fall 2011.

Medical/Educational
Timber Creek K-6 Elementary School
Location: Creekside Green Drive near Kuykendahl Road
Tomball ISD is building Timber Creek Elementary, its second elementary school in the Village of Creekside Park for students in grades K-6. The new school will open for the 2012-2013 school year.

St. Luke’s Medical Arts Center III
Location: St. Luke’s Campus at College Park Drive & St. Luke’s Way
St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital is constructing a 100,000- square-foot medical office building, with completion planned for early 2012.

Medical Office Building
Location: Indian Springs Village Center, Woodlands Pkwy. & Kuykendahl
Tom Pisula Development is constructing a 50,000-square-foot medical office complex.
