THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Rachel Reed, a 6-foot-1.5 sophomore middle blocker on The Woodlands High School volleyball team, and starting middle on WAVE 16 UA, just committed to the University of Southern California (USC) and will be a Trojan in 2015 playing for head coach Mick Haley and assistant coaches Tim Nollan and Cookie Stevens.

The Trojans made the NCAA D1 national tournament regional finals with a 30-6 record and ended up as the No. 6 ranked team in the nation.

Reed, daughter of The Woodlands High School boys’ head basketball coach Dale Reed, has been a member of WAVE for the past few years and has grown and grown in her skill set to go along with her athleticism, leadership, maturity and work ethic.

Reed was able to visit USC's campus a few weeks ago and fell in love with the campus, coaching staff, team and excellent California weather. She will undoubtedly add to USC's incoming recruiting classes and team.

This adds to our already growing list of college commitments from WAVE players. Other recent commitments in the past year:

Gabby Reis - 2013 Setter, College Park High School - Eckerd College
Hope Pawlik - 2013 OH/RS, Willis High School - Louisiana Monroe
Victoria Harris - 2015 OH/RS, Oak Ridge High School - Cincinnati
Kelly Quinn - 2014 Libero/DS, The Woodlands High School - LSU
