ORIGINAL STORY:

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- Voters will go to the polls on May 11, 2013 to determine who will hold three places on the Lone Star College System nine-member Board of Trustees. Up for election are Positions 1, 2, and 8. The terms are for six years and board members are elected at-large and are volunteers who serve without pay. They serve staggered terms so there are always experienced members on the board. On Election Day in Texas, a voter must vote at the voting location in the precinct in which he or she is registered to vote. Click to view list of the voting locations.

The issuance of $497,720,000 school building bonds for the Lone Star College System comprised of:

Lone Star College-Kingwood

Lone Star College-Tomball

Lone Star College-Montgomery

Lone Star College-CyFair

Lone Star College-University Park

For the construction, acquisition and equipment of school buildings in the System, school sites including instructional facilities; student services facilities; academic support facilities; campus support facilities; traffic infrastructure; safety and security infrastructure; plant system replacements; and technology infrastructure.
