Gerber leads Cooper past Kinkaid JV

HOUSTON, Texas – Michael Gerber threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns to lead The John Cooper School football team to a 28-14 victory over Kinkaid junior varsity on the road Friday.

Gerber completed 19-of-31 passes, including touchdown strikes of 23 yards to Clark Hyde and then 53 and 51 yards to Iker Pimiento, to help the Dragons break a 14-14 tie in the third quarter and win for the third consecutive week after opening the season with a pair of losses.

John Monroe recovered two fumbles while teammates Matt Jacobson and Alex Farley led the Dragons defense in tackles.

Luis Canavati and Sam Hodges combined for 82 receiving yards on 10 pass receptions.

Cooper looks to continue the win streak when it hosts Rosehill Christian at 7 p.m. Friday.
