THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The South Montgomery County Branch Crossing YMCA will celebrate its 10th Anniversary, Saturday, February 22 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a Community Street Party in the Y Parking Lot. Free family fun including live entertainment, karaoke, refreshments, inflatables, mascots, face painting, cake, giveaways, games, and more. A duck drop from the tipping bucket in the Water Park will occur at Noon. Catch a plastic duck and win a prize. The Y will feature special “Ten” activities, giveaways, promotions, and more daily during the 10 day period leading up to the 10th Anniversary Celebration, February 12 – February 21.

The YMCA facility opened its doors with a huge Grand Opening Event on February 21st, 2004. Located at 8100 Ashlane Way, off The Woodlands Parkway near the Branch Crossing 9th grade campus, the 40,000 square foot facility sits on 15.5 acres of land donated by The Woodlands Development Company.

Designed to compliment the Shadowbend location, which opened in September, 1986, the Branch Crossing YMCA features 2 unique amenities designed with families in mind: The Indoor Climbing Center and The Outdoor Family Water Park which features a large tipping bucket and water slide. The Y has recently added an additional fitness area which will allow for more group fitness classes and small group trainings.

The local YMCA has experienced phenomenal growth over the last 10 years . . . adding the 3rd location in 2010, Creekside YMCA Outdoor Adventure Center. Locally, the Y serves more than 40,000 people annually; provides over $600,000 annually in scholarships and subsidized programs, keeping the YMCA available to ALL; and has more than 400 employees on its active payroll. Many teens receive their first job experience at the YMCA.

The South Montgomery County YMCA provides its members One Membership with Three Locations to choose from in their own community but your Y City-Wide membership is also honored at any YMCA in the Greater Houston Area including Conroe, Tomball and Kingwood.

The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community. With a commitment to nurturing the potential of children, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive. The Y has long-standing relationships and physical presence not just to promise, but to deliver lasting, personal and social change. Though the world may be unpredictable, one thing remains certain - the Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, secure and connected children, families and communities.

The South Montgomery County YMCAs are opened 7 days a week. For information on YMCA membership, programs and activities, please call 281-367-9622 or visit the website.
