THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Where have you gone Socrates, our nation turns its lonely eyes to you? For those looking for philosophical inspiration, they just need to turn their eyes to the marquee at the UPS Store® on Rayford Road. The thought-provoking, sometimes humorous, and often outright funny passages exhibiting homespun humor, are provided by Jerry Donovan, the store owner and modern-day philosopher.

The staff at the UPS Store® said Donovan doesn’t have a degree in philosophy, he just comes up with the deep thoughts. Often the subject of Facebook posts and Twitter ‘retweets,’ it’s hard to quantify the reach of one of Donovan’s inspirational messages. For the past decade he’s continued to share ‘what comes to mind,’ on the sign outside his brick-and-mortar store located a couple of blocks east of I-45N, at 330 Rayford Road and Spring Ridge Drive.

In addition to mail services which include retail shipping...sending packages, even oversized items, printing documents, or renting a mailbox to receive mail, the UPS Store® serves up a ‘thought-for-the-day.’ Woodlands Online is pending a call from the ‘philosopher’ who conjures up the ‘sign of our times.’ In the meantime, we can only surmise that he’s deep in thought.
