SHENANDOAH, Texas - The Woodlands Highlander boys soccer team steam rolled through the regular season and looked to begin a long playoff run Thursday night, as the Highlanders faced Westfield in the 2014 Class 5A Bi-district round at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

The Woodlands advances to Area

It didn’t take long for the Highlanders to get aggressive as they scored three goals in the game’s first 10-minutes. The first score came courtesy of Primo Cavarrubias off a nice pass from Bubcarr Jobe just three-minutes into the game and the Highlanders lead 1-0.

In the next seven-minutes Bubacarr Jobe would go to work, scoring the next two Highlander goals as the Highlanders were in control early with a 3-0 lead just 15-minutes into the first half.

Westfield would get a wet ball to bounce awkwardly deflecting off Highlander goalkeeper Simon Boehme’s hands for their only goal of the match to make it a 3-1 Highlander lead with 18:00 remaining in the first half.

Just before the half, Tony Arana gets a nice header to find the back of the net with just 31-seconds remaining as the Highlanders take a 4-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Westfield had a couple of shots on goal, however didn’t threaten. Bubacarr Jobe finished off a spectaular game with another amazing goal in the 53rd-minute as the Highlanders take it 5-1 over Westfield. Jobe finished the match with three goals and an assist.

With the win, the Highlanders improve to 19-0-1 overall and advance to the Area round next week to face the Lake Travis/Round Rock winner.
