THE WOODLANDS, Texas- The John Cooper School volleyball team, under the leadership of senior captains Margaret Connett, Lexi Frazier and Julianne Malek, is once again pairing with the Side-Out Foundation/Dig Pink® to raise money to fight breast cancer. The Side-Out Foundation is an organization that coordinates fundraising events for volleyball teams. Cooper is sponsoring its fourth annual “Pink Week,” Oct. 6-10, in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Schoolwide events are planned all week culminating with the varsity volleyball’s "Dig Pink®” game versus Concordia Lutheran on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m.

“We encourage the entire community to come out and support our volleyball team and this great cause,” said Mike Cooper, athletic director for The John Cooper School. “There will be fun activities before the game such as face painting and much more, as part of the spirit- filled event that will begin at 5 p.m. in the Middle/Upper School Gym.”

“I would put it up there as one of the most exciting sporting events at Cooper, just because of all the spirit associated with it,” said senior Margaret Connett. “It’s also always an exciting game against Concordia.”

Last year’s fundraising efforts topped out at more than $12,000, putting the Dragons in the number one fundraising spot in Texas for the second consecutive year and third in the nation according to the Side-Out Foundation/Dig Pink®.
