THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Children’s Museum is the place to play during the fall and winter holiday season. The calendar is full of fun activities, as well as a number of workshops for children ages 7 and under.

Mark your calendars for:

The Original Halloween SpookTacular For Halloween, nothing will be scary about the museum – it’s just all about fun. There will be child-friendly games, art projects and activities. Costumes are encouraged. Come to the museum from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 for the SpookTacular celebration. Kiwanis will be selling pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and drinks.

Falltivities! These half-day and full-day workshops for Thanksgiving are designed to delight young minds with the spirit of fall. Children may try printmaking with corn husks and pumpkins or creating artistic Thanksgiving snacks. Sign your child up for morning or afternoon sessions. To enroll in both sessions, register for the “lunch bunch.” Admission is $34 per session for members and $54 for non-members. Lunch bunch is an additional $5 per day. Check the website for times and dates – or pick up a brochure at the museum.

Winter FUNcation The museum offers morning and afternoon classes for children ages 4 to 8 years old during winter break to keep those young minds active and entertained. Visit the website for times and dates of the various workshops. Parents may pick and choose courses for their children to attend. Classes are $34 for members and $54 for non-members.

Pancakes With Santa Reserve a space for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at The Woodlands Children’s Museum to celebrate the holidays over an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast buffet with all the fixin’s by Wicked Whisk. Join Santa Claus for pancakes, deliver letters to be mailed to the North Pole, create a variety of art projects and enjoy live music by Tom’s Fun Band. Don’t forget to visit with our favorite Christmas elves – Harmony the Clown and Abby the monkey. After the event, stay and play at the museum. Presale tickets are available for $30 for children and $15 for adults.

Mrs. Claus’ Gingerbread House Workshop Children will create and take home their own gingerbread houses while mingling with Mrs. Claus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 or Saturday, Dec. 20. All the supplies for the gingerbread houses are provided, and the cost to attend is $5 above normal museum admission per person.

High Noon Countdown (2) Ring in the New Year at the museum! There will be two countdowns – the first from 10 a.m. to noon and a second at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Live Music will be provided by Tom’s Fun Band. There will also be a variety of games, art projects, Bubble Wrap Dancing and a balloon and confetti drop at the stroke of noon and again at 3 p.m.

There is also a special opportunity to support the museum during the holidays. The Wreath Whimsy Fundraiser offers 24-inch, double-faced, freshly grown wreaths by a family owned tree farm and elegantly embellished by museum staff. The price per wreath is $79. There are also tabletop arrangements for $29. Funds raised from the sale of wreaths benefits art outreach programs for Title I schools in Montgomery County.
