THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Woodlands Christian is excited to announce the hiring of two former state champion coaches to lead the baseball program for the 2015-16 school year.

Emrick Jagneaux has been named the head baseball coach and Mike McGilvray will serve as his first assistant.

Coach Jagneaux has been coaching high school baseball for 42 years and is one of the few coaches in Texas high school history to win a championship in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC). His 1983 Port Arthur Jefferson team won the 5A state championship and his 2014 Houston Christian won the SPC championship. Coach “Jag” has also served as the head baseball coach at numerous baseball powerhouses in Southeast Texas including Westside HS, Deer Park HS, and Fort Bend Clements.

Coach McGilvray guided the 2000 Woodlands Highlander baseball team to the 5A state championship and multiple district championships during his time in Conroe ISD. Most recently, he has been serving as an assistant coach at College Park High School in The Woodlands. Coach McGilvray also has an extensive baseball career serving as the head coach at highly successful programs such as Lamar HS (Houston), Waco HS, Richfield HS, Grand Prairie HS, and McCullough HS.

Both of these men will be starting their tenure by hosting a youth baseball camp on June 16-19 at Woodlands Christian for incoming grades 1st – 12th. For more information about the camp, please email Coach Jagneaux at ejagneaux@twca.net.

Woodlands Christian finished the 2015 season in the area round of the TAPPS state playoffs.
