CONROE, Texas -- Colby Kizzie came out early and showed the public that 2105 could be a breakout year for the talented junior, as evidenced in Conroe's big win over Nimitz 45-2..

On the first play of the game Kizzie sent a play-action missile to junior wide receiver Kobe Jackson. The early score set the pace for the Tigers as Kizzie would have another touchdown pass and sophomore running back Donaven Lloyd would run for 2 scores.

“We’ve been planning all summer for this game,” said Kizzie. We’ve worked hard to get to this point, everyone has payed their dues and we were ready tonight.”

Kizzie looked comfortable from the start as he torched the Nimitz secondary with outside routes that left easy completions over the middle.

Sophomore running back Lloyd also had a nice beginning to his Conroe career as he had to pair of running touchdowns to add to the Conroe attack.

“If felt great out there tonight, we have a good line and I have my brother blocking for me, so tonight was a good night,” Lloyd said.

Conroe travels to Bryan next week and Tiger Head Coach Robert Walker does not want his team celebrating too much over the Nimitz victory.

“Our mentality was to play up to our talent level, I don't think we did it for 48 minutes but we did it a lot,” said Walker, now in his third season with the Tigers. “We have a lot of room to improve and thank goodness for that.”

Conroe travels to Bryan next week as they take on the Ross Rogers squad who lost to Montgomery 14-10 Friday night.

“Expect the unexpected next week,” Walker said.
