BRYAN, Texas -- Behind solid line play on both sides of the ball and a stellar performance from senior quarterback B.J. Wells, the Bryan Vikings controlled an undermanned Conroe Tiger squad 48-14 at Merrill Green Stadium.

Watch the highlights from the game here.

Scoring quickly on their first 2 possessions, the Vikings led 17-7 after the first quarter and never looked back as they avenge a week 1 loss to Montgomery 14-10.

“We’re going to learn form this tonight, go look at film, and clean it up for next week,” said Colby Kizzie, the Conroe junior quarterback.

The usually steady Kizzie was pressured often all night and was never able to get comfortable in the pocket from a steady rush from Bryan.

Kizzie was often forced to scramble out of the pocket from Bryan’s swarming defense and was never able to connect with the Conroe receivers, who dropped multiple passes over the middle.

“This is not a district game, we’re a better team than what we displayed tonight, we’ll be back for next weeks game,” Kizzie said.

The Tigers travel to Aldine next week as they will play a Mustangs squad who is currently winless and whose defense is averaging their opponents 70 points a game through 2 weeks.

Conroe Head Coach Robert Walker will look to have the variety ready for next week’s contest.

“We will put this loss behind us and we’ll be ready to go (next week).”

The Tigers play Aldine next Saturday at 6pm at Aldine High School.
