THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Instead of navigating the crowds and long lines, make your way to The Woodlands Children’s Museum to finish your holiday shopping.

Empower children by giving a gift that gives back to a local nonprofit

There are several gift ideas and ways to get into the holiday spirit at the museum:

1. Hit the gift shop. The museum has a gift shop offering affordable games and toys – perfect for young creative minds.

Executive director of the museum, Angela Colton, carefully curates the shop for classic toys and fun gift ideas. “We choose items that will stimulate children’s minds and encourage creative play,” she said.

2. Pick up a gift membership. A membership to the museum is a gift that keeps giving all year. Family memberships are available for $67 and offer a full year of unlimited visits for a family of four, as well as a discount on classes, camps and birthday parties. Shoppers can also pick up a Day Pass gift certificate for $5 or a Grandparent Yearly Membership for $57.

3. Show some love for the museum by ordering a tabletop centerpiece or fresh wreath. The museum’s annual holiday fundraiser, Wreath Whimsy, provides a chance to support the museum and obtain a lovely, fragrant Fraser fir wreath or centerpiece. Their tabletop arrangements are priced at $35. The wreaths are 24 inches, double-faced, freshly grown by a family-owned tree farm and elegantly embellished by museum staff. The price per wreath is $79.

4. Join the Drop and Shop Workshop. While parents finish up their last-minute shopping, children are invited for a fun time at the museum. They can create projects to give as gifts and enjoy milk and cookies. The workshops are scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, and Sunday, Dec. 20. Admission is $44 for members and $64 for nonmembers. Also check out the calendar for the Winter Funcation workshops at the museum.
