Nine Township pools open Saturday for preseason weekend fun

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Nine of the 14 community pools in The Woodlands Township will open at noon Saturday, May 7, 2016. Season pool passes are now on sale for a head start on summer fun.

The pools that will open for the preseason schedule include Alden Bridge, Shadowbend, Cranebrook, Falconwing, Harper’s Landing, Ridgewood, Sawmill, Wendtwoods and the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center. Beginning Saturday, May 7, 2016, these pools will be open from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays. For young families and those looking for a midweek escape, the Falconwing pool is also open on weekday afternoons (except Wednesdays) from noon to 6 p.m. beginning May 16, 2016.

Thirteen Township pools will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, and again for the regular season beginning Friday, June 3, and continuing through August 21, 2016. The opening date for Bear Branch Pool has been delayed until further notice.

Season passes for all pools are now available for sale online and in person or by phone to The Woodlands Township Recreation Center for both residents and non-residents. These passes can be purchased by residents for $40 for ages three to 64, $15 for those 65 and older, and just $6 for children younger than two. After purchasing four full-price ($40) passes, residents can purchase additional passes for just $15 each for others in the same household. For nonresidents, the price is $30 for children younger than two and $120 for those ages three and older. There is no additional family member or senior discount for non-residents.

For new season pool passes, pictures must be taken at The Woodlands Recreation Center, located at 5310 Research Forest Drive (in Bear Branch Park) within one week of purchasing a new pass. Hours of Operation are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For guests visiting The Woodlands and residents who only use the pools occasionally, punch cards good for six visits are available for purchase. These cards are $30 for residents and allow access to 13 pools, excluding the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center, $40 for residents with access to the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center, and $55 for non-residents for the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center only.

All Township pools are now able to accept credit cards for all transactions. Cash and checks are also still accepted, though cash is not recommended for large transactions.
